A Story  Four AK-47s pointed at me—two through the windshield and one at each side window.  My straight-shift car lurched as my brain disconnected from my feet.  One soldier pushed me to the center to stop the car.  “They are taking me with them!”  Car stopped; I was thrown into the ditch.  “They’re not taking me!”  I was yanked upright to take my shoulder bag and left in a cloud of dust—and with a crowd of onlookers.

These carjacking witnesses pressed in close, asking, “Are you hurt?  Terrified?  What will you do?  Who are you?   Where are you from?”  “I’m okay.”  It was too quick for terror to set in.  “I’m from America and will walk home.”  That dense clot of 50 or so people moved with me.  “Why are you in Kampala? What do you do?  Will you leave?”  I’ve come to introduce Jesus, teach the Bible and help churches grow.  “No, I’m not leaving.”  “Why would you stay?”  I won’t leave because of a bad event, because of evil people.  Only the Gospel goodness of God can deal with evil.  Jesus is our hope.  And so we conversed for the 30-minute walk home.

Thirty minutes earlier I lay in a heap of dust, and now I’m walking on air, praising God for his amazing capacity to use any moment for his glory.  Those 50 people heard the Gospel, and God had allowed me to tell them!     Story from:  Catch Your Breath!

Work on it:   "The nature of spiritual life is that we are certain in our uncertainty.  To be certain of God means that we are uncertain in all our ways; we do not know what a day may bring forth.  This is generally said with a sigh of sadness; it should be rather an expression of breathless expectation.  We are uncertain of our next step, but we are certain of God.  Immediately we abandon to God, and do the duty that lies nearest, He packs our life with surprises.  We are not uncertain of God, but uncertain of what He is going to do next.  When we are rightly related to God, life is full of spontaneous, joyful uncertainty and expectancy.   Oswald Chambers, My Utmost of His Highest.  Repent of anxiety.  Ask for faith and eyes to see Him.
