A Story…  We were quite a crew.  Men, women, and youth.  A dentist, college students, those who could not write or read, and one who couldn’t speak the local language.  Some poor, others financially stable, a business owner, and some with no home—living at the church. 18 of us had come with a blanket, plate, cup, and our Bibles—and a passion for being the church to start a new church. With a rented room and two tents we set up camp.  The next morning, we stood in a circle of prayer.  Then this circle turned inside out, to face the community.  Each person walked out from the camp for two hours, meeting the residents, inviting them to an evening service.  After two hours we each moved to the right and began the two hour return to camp, talking to everyone in the path.  That afternoon we shared stories and rested for the evening service, in which we all had a part to play.

The next day we did the same, except we each exited the circle at a different point, to walk a new path. Our great variety of people related to the great variety of residents.  Each evening the service attendance grew.  We all shared our God stories, an amazing variety of journeys to faith. A local church was planted that week and stills meets now many years later.

God has designed us to be a Body.  We His people are placed in and built on Christ.  In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.  In Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit—positioned to catch the wind of His Spirit.  Lone rangers have difficulty catching the revival wind of the Spirit.  Ephesians 2:19-22

Work on it:  Why don’t I fully participate in a local Church Body.  Does God receive these excuses well?  Take a deep breath and plant yourself in a small group, committing to be open and honest.  Prepare to be shaped into Christlikeness by others as you help others become more like Christ.

Xtras!  Research Scripture’s “one another” passages.  Practice them.

What if you love your spouse’s head but don’t want anything to do with his/her body.  How does that work out?

*   Tell someone of God’s Gospel Goodness.

*   Ask someone to share their God Story.

*   Join one or two in prayer for Revival.
