Learn to Settle

Be still (cease striving, settle down) and know that I am God… Psalm 46:10

Anchor 1

Settling Exercises:

  • Take a leisurely walk, alone, without the phone.

  • Pull weeds in your yard, a park, along the street.

  • Use routine tasks that don't require a lot of thought.

Mowing the grass: Do You know each blade of grass? Is neatness, order, important to You?  Can they be too important to you?

Washing dishes: Thank You for soap. Refresh me with Your cleansing. Make me fresh for the next meal. Thank You for our daily bread.

Daily commute: Where are we going today, Lord? Open my eyes to see your assignments. Don’t let me make a wrong turn. Train me to come to a full stop frequently to listen and watch.

Folding laundry: Thank You for the sweet aroma of the Spirit in my life, the softness of your touch, the faithful day-by-day washing of your Word to remove the pollution of the world.
