Learn to Settle
Be still (cease striving, settle down) and know that I am God… Psalm 46:10
Settling Exercises:
-
Take a leisurely walk, alone, without the phone.
Let your eyes, what you see, direct your conversation with Jesus.
Direct your commentary to Him and let it all be about Him, a worship as you walk.
Do not let it be about yourself. Not a time for your questions of Why?
Leave plenty of space for Him to speak.
Note: If your mind is really blank despite all the sights and you really cannot bear the silence, speak, “Lord, I want to see You.”
Lord, your creativity is wondrous, colors, shapes, sounds…
You move the clouds to bring shade and rain.
Such variety everywhere; obviously, You enjoy your creative side.
You have clothed this wild flower well.
Even in dirt you have purpose.
Your image is within this person, every person.
You love this man, this woman…
Knowledge of this building’s architecture came from You, the Builder.
You know fully every detail of history around this spot under my feet.
The wind on my face is like Your Spirit, so close, refreshing.
